Vitamin D3 and me…
I live in the Pacific Northwest on a conifer tree farm in the Callahans. Everywhere I look, there are shades of green…Douglas Fir, Grand Fir, a few Cedar and Scotch pine. There’s a reason that the Pacific Northwest produces these majestic trees and the bulk of the lumber for this nation: R-A-I-N. I’ve been in Oregon two and a half years, and I’m still rather amazed at the two totally distinct seasons here…wet and dry. What doesn’t amaze me and is harder to live with are six months with little sunshine.
Recently, I had my yearly lab work done. My cholesterol was a little on the high side, but the reason my doctor’s office tracked me down on my cell phone was another lab result. My Vitamin D level was VERY low. I was instructed to get on Vitamin D3 immediately…not Vitamin D2…Vitamin D3!
I’ve been a Registered Nurse since graduating in 1978 and was well aware of the need for Vitamin D…or so I thought. After researching this week about Vitamin D3 deficiency, which I’ve obviously had for some time, I’m amazed. Vitamin D deficiency has been creditably linked to many illnesses and diseases affecting a surprising number of people.
I would encourage each of you to google Vitamin D deficiency and study! Request a Vitamin D blood level at your doctor’s office. Read the research about the foods that will help (a little) and the times of the day that sunshine will help the most…and by all means, take your Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) today!

Vitamin D Deficiency…Hidden Epidemic
The video below will take about one-half hour of your time, but is well worth it.

Wow…that is really interesting. I don’t think I have that deficiency, but the next time I get blood work done, I will inquire about it.
Thanks. I had read about Vit. D and started taking it but then slacked off….I think I will start again!
