Sunshine and shadows…

mantlecandleglowThe sun comes and goes behind the clouds across the valley below, and in the process creates deep purple shadows on the mountains in the distance.  It’s the rainy season now in Oregon, and I am thankful for every single moment of sunshine.

It is harvest time.  My macho logger tree farmer is busy directing the crew (even on crutches) which is harvesting the Noble Fir, Grand Fir and Douglas Fir…the majestic Pacific Northwest bounty.  There are thousands of these beautiful trees to be harvested, and I imagine each one finding its way into a home somewhere in the United States…lovingly decorated for Christmas.  Yes, I know.  I’m a hopeless romantic and a dreamer.

It’s almost Thanksgiving, and we’re looking forward to my husband’s older daughter and her family being here.  I can’t wait to hold little Mason and take lots of pictures of him.  He’s so amazingly cute!  I wonder who’s going to cook Thanksgiving dinner while I’m playing with the baby?!  Just look at that face – I’m in love.

In the meantime, until I get to play Grandmommy, I’ve been busy decorating for Autumn and Thanksgiving.  I love this time of year.  Besides, all the candles help dispel the Pacific Northwest rainy season darkness!

I love the way you have decorated your house! The candles and little lights lend a warm and inviting look. I’m sure they help dispell the gloom of many cloudy and rainy days.

Your pictures and writings are awesome!!! Thanks sharing.

Your grandson is adorable…, and also I am so sorry that your husband broke his ankle, he is a very lucky man that you are a nurse and got to him quickly. I do hope all will be well very soon.

    Have a happy Holiday Season.

Ms. Dianne, how are the trees loaded after harvesting? Are they loaded on trucks ? Train ? Maybe you can do a pictorial ? Yea, that would be cool ! ‘Jus kiddin’, we know you are retired . LOL ! Hope Mr. Jim continues with a smooth recovery.
